The Board of Fire Commissioners of Florence Twp. Fire District No.1 is proud to announce the delivery of a newly remounted ambulance. This initiative reinforces the District’s commitment to fiscal responsibility and high-quality emergency medical services.
Rather than purchasing a completely new ambulance, the district elected to purchase a remounted patient care module onto a new 2026 Ford chassis. This approach enables the district to have a reliable asset and upgrading critical components to meet current safety and operational standards.
The remounted ambulance was completed at a cost of approximately $ 294,024.33 compared to the estimated $ 425,000 cost of purchasing a new ambulance. This resulted in a direct savings of approximately $130,000 to taxpayers while still delivering a reliable and modern emergency response unit. This enabled a faster delivery than the two-year wait time for a new ambulance.
The decision to purchase a remounted ambulance reflects our commitment to balancing operational readiness with fiscal discipline, we are proud to provide our community with high-quality emergency services while maximizing the value of every taxpayer dollar.
